Jordan Casey received an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Philosophy from Trent University, graduating with high honours. She completed her Juris Doctor, specializing in criminal law, from Osgoode Hall Law School. During her legal education, Ms. Casey summered with Leora Shemesh where she gained considerable experience working on complex criminal drug cases at all Ontario court levels. She also completed a 10-week externship placement with the Downtown Toronto Crown Attorney’s Office through the Criminal Law Intensive Program.
Prior to rejoining Leora Shemesh Criminal Law, Ms. Casey practiced for a prominent Toronto defence firm where she was involved in criminal matters ranging from simple possession of marijuana to first-degree murder. She regularly appears before the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice throughout the Southern Ontario region. Ms. Casey has successfully represented clients at various stages of the criminal proceeding, including bail hearings and reviews, pre-trial, preliminary hearings, and both judge alone and jury trials.
Ms. Casey has acquired unique and valuable experience through her work with both defence counsel and Crown Attorneys, which she employs as a tool to better advocate for and defend her clients.
