My birthdate is May 3rd 1991, my second chance, my born again moment, my freedom was given to me June 15th 2021. This is all thanks to Ms. Shemesh and her office.

For starters Leora is a whole different person in a court room. Her demeanour and passion for what she does is on a class of its own. My experience throughout the legal proceedings was very transparent and comforting in a way because she believed, fought and ensured me I was a priority. The level of comfort Ms. Shemesh provided to me and my family was genuine, professional and personable, which helped me stay sane during my time in custody.

This legal odyssey is what I would call “the never ending bail story”. 1 Ontario court judge, 3 superior court judges, and 12 judges at the court of appeal. I showcase this stat to shed light on the trials, tribulations and best of all perseverance Ms. Shemesh had to endure just to get bail alone.

After a few successful pre-trial motion applications, there finally came some light at the end of this tunnel and soon become my freedom.

I am forever grateful, and I can’t thank Ms. Shemesh and her office enough for this second chance. This firm truly cares about their clients.
